Natural, Synthetic

Ready-to-use porous scaffold based on human methacryloyl platelet lysate (hPLMA)-based hydrogel (15% w/v). The main components are human-derived serum albumin, epidermal growth factor, platelet-derived growth factor, fibrinogen, vascular endothelial growth factor, serotransferrin and complement C3. Erythropoietin and hepatocyte growth factor, among others, were also identified.

The hPLMA Sponge is a lyophilised form of a photopolymerised hPLMA hydrogel, prepared with 15% hPLMA and LAP (0.5% in PBS) as the photoinitiator. Upon the addition of cell culture medium, it rehydrates and forms a hydrogel.
